Dr. Maria Nemeth
The Energy of Money:
A Spiritual Guide to Financial and Personal Fulfillment
Ballantine

The disdain for materialism that emerged during the sixties has had an incredible effect on the psyches of most baby boomers. When you use Maria Nemeth's coaching model, one of the things you might "see" is that you really love the energy of money! That you feel deeply rewarded for your efforts and energy you spend in the world today by having something concrete to show for it!

Personal satisfaction includes the material as well as the spiritual, intellectual land emotional quests of our lives. I think it is possible to sit on the very fine edge between the material world and the spiritual world and enjoy the best of both of them. The idea that we have to choose between love and money is obsolete.

We come into our lives with a purpose. Some drive to contribute to mankind in a positive and impactful manner. We might spend an immense amount of time in a haze of spiritual amnesia, but with a timely catalyst, we could also awaken to our highest aims and aspirations and fulfill that part of ourselves and give our gift to the world as we intended and discover that money is the natural by product of doing the right thing!

Maria Nemeth, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist with decades of experience. She is also the former clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California-Davis School of Medicine. She has helped thousands of people to create ongoing affluence and financial ease. She says, "How you do money is how you do life."

Don’t miss this opportunity to marry awareness to actions that allow you to realize your highest aims and aspirations.

Dr. Deepak Chopra
How to Know God
The Soul’s Journey into the Mystery of Mysteries
Three Rivers Press

Deepak Chopra has toured worldwide speaking on his work and ultimate goal, that is,
”to expand the way we see ourselves, and in the process, our world” which he says is a most valuable personal asset in a rapidly evolving and challenging universe.

Deepak Chopra is the bearer of many blessings in our time. Weaving ancient traditions into personal growth self help books and fictional tales, he has erased our aversion to the medieval mysticism of yesteryear and replaced it with the art of contemporary languaging, making old wisdom newly available to the mainstream.

His newest book, How to Know God presents a remarkable blueprint, similar to that of the way the seven chakras reside within us, that outlines our constant growth and stages in the conversation of our connection the Spirit, Source of all Things, God. Are there such things as miracles? What comprises a miracle and how do we individually participate is such a phenomenon?

In his newest book Deepak Chopra speaks to our every level of knowing that divine source of all things and our incredible ability to become one with that source of energy. He engages us in a conversation in this book that invites us to utilize our intelligence in the way it was created to be utilized, as a resource, and a co creator with the ein soph, the infinite, God. This book is a must for all personal libraries. It will live long after its first reading.

I consider Deepak Chopra to be the Pied Piper of our spiritual evolution. Many have gone before him and many will continue after he is no more, but one thing is for certain. His personal journey is representative of vast amounts of others. The pulse of his growth is synonymous with a global spiritual hunger and this book is a remarkable key to articulating what we innately know and who we are in this great process of spiritual elevation.

Congratulations to all of us as well, for bringing such a useful work into being! Catch Marlene’s personal interview with Deepak Chopra on "givemetalk.com". Simply type in “Marlene Caldes” and click GO.

2001 Quantum Age Book Award Winner

William Bridges
The Way of Transition
(Embracing Life’s Most Difficult Moments)
Perseus Publishing

September 11th called for pause, self investigation, reconnection and inner stillness to adjust to a new reality. As a result, we ran a little late naming our 2001 Quantum Age Book Award, but these states of mind were spoken to very eloquently in 2001's winner: The Way of Transition by William Bridges. Every year we sift through the books and authors that made contribution in a very practical and successful manner. This particular book emerged at the very best possible time. We could all utilize the great ideas this wonderful work presents.

William Bridges describes transition as having the following attributes:

  1. a sudden and unexpected event that destroys the life that made you feel like yourself
  2. the drying up of a situation or relationship that once was vital and alive
  3. an activity that has always gone well before suddenly goes badly
  4. a person or organization that you have always trusted prove to be untrustworthy and your whole sense of reality comes apart
  5. an inexplicable or unforeseen problem crops up at the worst time to disrupt the ordinary functioning of your life"

And he has given new meaning to the phrase being "dissed!"

  • disengagement: separation from whatever it is that you have lost;
  • disenchantment: the way that loss destroys the old identity you had;
  • disidentification: how that loss tears you out of the reality you accepted unthinkingly
  • disorientation: as a result of losing the object of your feeling and the identity you had together and the reality you shared; you feel bewildered and lost.

Sept. 11 is a huge and terrible loss. It was an event that shifted the consciousness of the entire world, as we have known it. Bill Bridges writes, "the most important ability is the ability to say good-bye to all that you hold dear. the ability to make an ending, to do those things and then go on --even though doing that sometimes feels disloyal..." and in addition to such a huge and apparent shift, this opportunity presents itself daily on the  smallest, most microcosmic levels. We are gifted with renewal.

It is an honor to present our belated 2001 Quantum Age Award to Mr. William Bridges for his latest book, a remarkable navigational tool for our times, The Way of Transition embracing life's most difficult moments.

It also speaks to every element of our natural world through the eyes of our Native American counterparts. It is a vital reference based on Native medicine, wisdom and philosophy for healing ourselves and how our connection to every living aspect of earth’s ‘lifeweb’ influences us.

Kenneth Cohen is a walking contribution He carries the molecules and atoms of healing from around the entire world, not just the Native American way. 2005 Quantum Age Book Award Winner

Kenneth Cohen
Honoring the Medicine
The Essential Guide to Native American Healing

Our Quantum Age Book Award for 2005 goes to Elizabeth Kubler Ross and David Kessler for their coauthored book, On Grief and Grieving. Finding the Meaning of Grief Through the Five Stages of Loss.

Known world wide for her internationally acclaimed best selling book, On Death and Dying, this well thought out, heart fully co-written book addresses not only the lives we lose but the lives we live.

David Kessler writes that those who grieve well, live well, and that grief is the most important healing process for the heart, soul and mind. "It shouldn't be a matter of IF you grieve; the question is WHEN will you grieve. And until we do, we suffer from the effects of that unfinished business.” All aspects of loss, from natural causes to suicide, are included here.

We will find ourselves walking between the worlds when our beloveds depart. Those moments, like the brush of angels wings, may be so otherworldly, remarkable, painful, elevating and staggering all at the same time. Here is a buoy by which to navigate such a passage. Grief and Grieving is truly the sixth stage of loss, the natural sequence to Elizabeth’s On Death and Dying, the five stages of loss.

“A true navigational tool and a blessing between covers. A must have for one’s library.”  Marlene Caldes, Host of Conversations of the Quantum Age
